Beekeeping and beekeeping museum Koželj

Visit apiculture Koželj if you want to experience a completely different world only a few kilometres from the capital of Slovenia.
They have been keeping three transportable and two stationary beehives for 40 years in the areas of Dolenjska and Suha Krajina. They make honey, bee pollen, propolis and beeswax. You can get honey and honey liqueur in hand painted glasses.
The apiculture, which has more than 400 beehives of different types, is marked with 3 bees.
Beside the beehives there is enough room to socialise in the nature.
If you arrange it in advance, you can have a look at Apiculture chapel Peter Pavel Glavan. He is one of the great names of Slovenian apiculture who opened the first Slovenian School of apiculture and horticulture in 1781.
At Adamičeva cesta 5, in Šmarje-Sap, they also have an apiculture museum with many exhibits and apiculture literature.
